Q'eqchi' millenary Mayan ancestral knowledge

The millenary ancestral Maya Q'eqchi' knowledge has been transferred from generation to generation, the communities have developed great knowledge over time, thanks to their experiences with nature, the cosmos and observation. This knowledge has been transmitted through orality, rituals and ceremonies.
The millenary ancestral Maya Q'eqchi' knowledge covers a wide range of topics, from natural medicine to agriculture and livestock, astronomy, architecture, gastronomy, music and the arts, among others.
Sabemos que cada comunidad desarrolla estos temas de acuerdo a su entorno natural, aprovechando los recursos con los que cuenta y adaptándolas para las condiciones y necesidades que presenten.
It is very important for us to preserve the ancient ancestral knowledge of our grandmothers and grandfathers of the Maya Q'eqchi' people of Alta Verapaz, knowledge that is full of valuable information for future generations and from which we are still learning.
